About Me

MY NAME IS Jon

I started in the construction industry when I was 14 years old in Southern Michigan. When I was 19, I was introduced to interior trim work and fell in love with the attention to detail that the work demanded. My grandfather and great-grandfather were both gifted craftsmen which intrigued me at a young age to strive for quality woodworking.

We purchased a beautiful parcel of land we loved. We met with builders in the area, and we even questioned what we were doing. We met Jon at Cottonwood Carpentry. He listened to what were wanting. No cookie cutter home, but with an Alaskan feel. This was going to be our late spring to fall home. We were wanting to split time with our family here in Alaska and family in the lower 48. Jon sent us drawings and ideas that we could run with. We were able to make changes and he was more than willing to make sure we were getting the home we wanted. This was all being done 3,500 miles away with supply chain issues and rising costs. Jon was great at communicating any issues that could arise and had a plan for working around them. Cottonwood Carpentry built us the home of our dreams and I am proud to say we have become friends. We would recommend Jon at Cottonwood Carpentry for any construction project.
